What Is Forma?

Forma is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared skin tightening treatment that uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to heat the deep layers of your skin. This process stimulates the production of collagen, which helps to tighten and smooth the appearance of your skin. It can be used to treat areas of the face and body, including the face, neck, chest, arms, and abdomen.

Note, this is a safe and effective treatment for all skin types and can be used to treat both small and large areas of the body. It is a great option for those who are looking for a non-invasive way to tighten their skin and improve its overall appearance. Forma was designed to treat smaller areas such as the face, neck and hands. Forma Plus was designed to improve the health and appearance of larger areas such as the abdomen, flanks, back, thighs, upper arms, knees and upper chest.

What Is a Forma Facial?

A Forma Facial is a series of Forma treatments to tighten the skin, improving overall skin quality and adding that “glow” to your skin. We recommend a series of 6 Forma treatments one week apart for best results in reducing fine lines and improving skin laxity. You will notice improvements with each treatment. The procedure itself takes about half an hour, and has no downtime after the treatments. Specific post-care instructions and skin care will be discussed with you in advance.

How Long Should I Expect My Treatment To Take?

As a general rule, you can expect your treatment to take around 30 minutes. Each session is so quick because the heat generated by the device is gentle on your skin. In fact, this treatment has been likened to a deep hot stone massage. The warmth is simultaneously relaxing and reinvigorating. There is no pain during this refreshing treatment, so there is no need to apply a topical anesthetic.

However, you should be aware that the length of treatment can vary significantly on a case by case basis. For example, you can expect with a great deal of confidence that your session will only take half an hour if you are concerned about loose facial skin. On the other hand, you should expect your session to take closer to 90 minutes if you want to tighten loose facial skin, treat your abdomen, and improve the appearance of your upper arms.

How Does Forma Plus Work?

This treatment works by heating the tissue beneath the skin, which helps to break down the fat cells and smooth out the appearance of cellulite. It is typically done in a series of treatments, and most people see results after three to six treatments.

There is no downtime required following Forma or Forma Plus treatments, so you are free to return to work as soon as your treatment is complete and your post-treatment guidelines have been covered.

How Soon Can I See the Results of My Treatment?

Remember, the average person needs approximately six Forma treatments spaced a week apart. You will begin to see results after a couple of sessions, with maximal results occurring over a period of weeks as the collagen in your skin is produced and re-modeled. After your final session, it can take anywhere from two to six weeks for your skin to finish producing the extra collagen necessary to tighten and heal itself.

What Can I Do to See My Results Faster?

Since the benefits of this treatment are derived from extra collagen production, you can see your results faster by taking steps to increase the efficiency of your skin’s collagen production process. Making sure you eat enough protein is one of the simplest steps you can take to facilitate this. There are nine essential amino acids that make up protein, and you need three of them to produce collagen.

If you don’t get enough protein in your diet, there is a chance that there will be an insufficient amount of the three amino acids in your diet that your skin needs. Another simple step you can take to facilitate rapid collagen production is to take a daily supplement of vitamin C.

What Can I Expect After My Treatment Session?

You can expect to return to work feeling beautiful and refreshed after your treatment session. One of the most exciting benefits of this treatment is that it is completely safe to apply cosmetics to your skin once your session is complete. You can return to work wearing makeup, and nobody will know you underwent a cosmetic treatment.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Forma Treatments?

This nonsurgical treatment is a good option for people who are looking for a non-invasive option to brighten and tighten the skin with mild laxity and fine lines. This treatment is also a good option for people who are not good candidates for surgery. However, an initial evaluation is required before a final determination can be made regarding candidacy.

The Bottom Line

Before we can tell you whether you qualify for this treatment, we need to evaluate your problem areas and discuss your health history, current health, and goals. There is a good chance that you will be considered a good candidate if your skin is not irritated at the time of your appointment. However, this treatment may not benefit you if your cosmetic concerns are caused by excess skin rather than loose skin.

There are many popular treatments that provide results thanks to InMode’s ingenious devices. Two of the safest, most effective treatments are Forma and Forma Plus. Both treatments work the same way. They facilitate cellulite smoothing and skin tightening because the radiofrequency energy heats the foundational layers of your skin. Generally, good candidates for this treatment dislike the appearance of their skin but do not qualify for or want surgery.
