RF Microneedling With Morpheus8

Morpheus8 is a radiofrequency (RF) microneedling treatment, which means that this is an advanced skin resurfacing and skin tightening treatment that utilizes the thermal power of radiofrequency energy to rejuvenate the skin. Radiofrequency energy penetrates the upper layers of the skin and stimulates the production of collagen. RF microneedling can also encourage better cellular turnover to address pigmentation concerns.

RF microneedling can be used for a wide range of aesthetic concerns related to both skin texture and skin pigment. This treatment can also be used on the face and the body. Some of the concerns that can be addressed include:
  • Enlarged pores
  • Line and wrinkles
  • Uneven tone
  • Loose skin
  • Scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Sun damage
  • Blemishes

What Can You Expect From Treatment?

Overall, your treatments with this unique radiofrequency treatment will take about 30 minutes to an hour to finish. These treatments are very comfortable because the system can be customized to a heat setting that is comfortable for your skin. A topical numbing cream is used to prepare for the treatment for maximum comfort.

During this treatment, your aesthetic expert will use a handheld device to apply radiofrequency energy to your areas of concern. You can treat multiple areas of the face and body at one time, which may be ideal if you have complex aesthetic concerns.

What Should You Do Before Treatment?

Before any radiofrequency treatment, it’s usually a good idea to temporarily stop using irritating skincare products, which can include retinoids, other vitamin A derivatives, and chemical exfoliants such as glycolic acid and salicylic acid. By avoiding the products for at least three to five days, you will ensure that your skin is in good condition for treatment.

Radiofrequency treatments can also cause photosensitivity, so it’s usually a good idea to limit sun exposure for at least one week before your appointment. This means that you should avoid outdoor activities, sunbathing, self-tanning products, and some medications that can cause photosensitivity, such as benzoyl peroxide.

What Should You Do After Treatment?

Most people will go back to their normal daily activities on the same day or the day after their appointment depending on what areas of the body have been treated. You should not wear makeup on any treated area for at least 24 hours and you should follow all of your aftercare directions so that your results develop as intended.

Some aftercare instructions will include avoiding direct contact with the sun or other activities that can trigger melanin production, including sunbathing. You should also do your best to avoid any activities that can irritate the skin, including the use of certain skincare products, hot water, steam, and excessive sweating. Most of your aftercare instructions should only be followed for three to five days, after which you’ll be able to resume all of your normal activities.

How Many Treatments Will You Need?

Most people will need a few treatments with the radiofrequency system to address all of their treatment concerns. It’s common to use at least one to three appointments to address minor concerns and three to five treatments for moderate-to-severe concerns. While this treatment is very powerful, treating multiple areas of the body or face may mean that you will need more treatments.

How Soon Will You See Results?

Most people will start to see the results of this treatment about four to six weeks after their first appointment. The results of the treatment happen as collagen is produced in the subdermal layers of the skin. You may notice faster results if you follow your aftercare instructions very carefully. Some people who are only treating superficial pigmented concerns may notice results more quickly than those who are treating concerns such as deep wrinkles or scarring.

How Long Will Results Last?

The results of this radiofrequency microneedling treatment can last for 12 to 18 months at a time. You may need to have annual appointments once a year or once every two years to maintain your desired results. The longevity of your results will depend on how long your body produces and maintains collagen, as well as how well you can avoid damage from the sun that can prematurely age the skin.
_________

Are You a Good Candidate?

Because this treatment can be customized to suit your skin’s needs, most people are considered good candidates. Radiofrequency is non-ablative and will not scar the skin, while microneedling works with your body’s natural resources to tighten the skin and improve the appearance of the skin surface. A consultation will determine whether or not you are an eligible patient for this treatment.
